A little word on Cherry picking – this always seems to come up on running day…..
For those of you on here checking this workout, I’m sure whats written for today’s session isn’t going to be met with much excitement and potentially the excuses for why you cant make it in may start coming in thick and fast. I don’t like to use myself as an example, but I think when it comes to running I think my thoughts probably are very similar to most of you. Over the years I’ve always associated myself with being a bad runner or something that I hope never comes up in workouts because I just don’t like it. But, the more I learn about CrossFit and about the human body I understand that the things I’m worse at or don’t really like doing, are actually the things which will have the GREATEST positive change in my fitness levels. If I can improve my running by just 5%, imagine how much better ill get at all the movements I like!? Today, we need to get “comfortable being uncomfortable”. Find a running pace that feels a little uncomfortable, and stick with it. Focus on things you can control, your running tempo, your stride, your breathing, and that you are a capable, healthy human!
